What are you afraid of?
Is it failure?
Or is it success?
If you fail, then what would you gain?
Pain? Disappointment? Regret?
That's right, you already know how to deal with this things,
you know it so well,
You put on a smile that could fool anyone,
the things that you do will stay the same as they are,
because, it is far from success, it's nothing special.
People will start to forget about the things you want to achieve
Little by little, you become transparent,
Pieces of you will become invisible,
Until no one else will notice your dreams, along with your mistakes,
As long as you put on that smile,
Then you could go on, as if no one else sees you,
no one else would bother you.
If you succeed,
then what will you gain?
Satisfaction? Fame? Happiness?
All these things you have to need so badly,
do you really want it?
Happiness that is too fragile,
holding this right in the palm of your hand,
isn't it too scary?
As if there's always something, someone, trying to snatch it away
from those incapable hands.
If you succeed,
people will start to look at you
the harder you try, and really try,
the lesser you become transparent,
people will start to see you, look at you,
not just through you, but, right at you
watching your every step, waiting for your every move
just because your special, because you've succeeded,
they tell you praises and best wishes, while eagerly anticipating your fall
this is how people are,
isn't it scary?
But then, what should you be afraid of?
Is it failure? Is it success?
That's right. Change.
This is probably what you're afraid of.
Scared of trying,
Scared of loosing what you're already holding on to right now
You're afraid, that if you take flight, then you may not be able to find the way back to your nest.
If you embrace your wings, and soar at the vast sky you admire so much,
What would you choose?
To be able to take off to a world unknown to your eyes,
like a mighty eagle, hunting down preys and taking out enemies that refuses to share the great sky
Or to fall right into a small minnow,
where you can be who you want to be, at any time that you want to be,
without eyes judging you, and expectations eating you.
Is it failure?
Or is it success?
If you fail, then what would you gain?
